Walker vs. Skarsgard Atop The Great Wall

By Dr. Know on June 9th, 2012

UPDATE: Looks like Benjamin Walker won out here, folks. He’s in in talks to take on the co-starring role alongside Henry Cavill.

Benjamin Walker – soon to be seen as Abe himself in the upcoming Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter – and Alexander Skarsgard (Battleship) are the final contestants in a two-horse race to co-star in the grand-scale adventure The Great Wall.

The flow of this one is about British warriors trekking through 15th Century China, stumbling upon the hurried construction of the massive wall. As night falls, the warriors realize the frenzied rush in erecting the wall isn’t just to keep out those merciless Mongols. Oh no, there’s something inhuman and much more odious abound.

Details on the specifics of the coveted role are being kept under wraps, but one would have to assume this is for the part of one of the Brits.

Henry Cavill (Immortals, Man of Steel) is set to play the lead heroic role.

Ed Zwick (The Last Samurai) is directing this behemoth, which is based on an original concept by Max Brooks and Legendary Pictures  fat cat Thomas Tull.

Legendary Picures East is putting up the dough the float this epic boat.

Stay tuned, as an official announcement on who comes up the winner should be forthcoming soon.
