Universal Buys The Entire Vampire Chronicles

By Drax Largo on August 7th, 2014

Universal Studios has acquired the film rights to all titles unde Anne Rice’s Vampire Chronicles series. And, yes, Interview With the Vampire (previously adapted by Neil Jordan and starring Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt in 1994) is among the library in this deal.

There are 13 books in the main series, with another – Prince Lestat - hitting retailers this October.

Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci (not surprisingly) will produce the films…if any  of them see the light of day (pun intended).

Next to the aforementioned Interview, the only other book adapted for the big screen was the horrendous Queen of the Damned in 2002, which pilfered a a scene or two from The Vampire Lestat.

Let the fanboy speculation and hate-on comments begin.
