Transformers: AOE Interview – Michael Bay

By Dr. Know on June 26th, 2014

When it comes to summer movie tentpole action no one blows it up bigger and better than director Michael Bay. From his audacious, irreverent debut, Bad Boys, almost 20 years ago, to 2013’s Pain & Gain, Bay has proven time and again that he’s the master of cinematic mayhem…or Bayhem, if you prefer.

This week marks his return to franchise fare with Transformers: Age of Extinction. Although it’s the fourth entry in the series, Bay is starting anew; a new cast; a new story; a whole new universe, at least that’s the word according to Bay himself.

In our interview with the veteran director, Bay discusses working once again with Pain & Gain star Mark Wahlberg, the addition of newcomers Nicola Peltz, Jack Reynor and the venerable Stanley Tucci, as well as the challenges of shooting the picture in IMAX 3D.

Transformers: Age of Extinction hits theaters tomorrow.
