The Purge: Anarchy Interview – Frank Grillo

By Miss Demeanor on July 17th, 2014

Frank Grillo is one of the best and brightest working in genre movies today in my opinion, and he’s also waaaaaay underrated by Hollywood’s standards as far as I’m concerned. Grillo’s a man’s man (unlike most prima donna pretty boys in La-La Land these days), but he can also layer his performances with a subtle emotion and sensitivity often overlooked by the critics.

The Purge: Anarchy marks yet another tough-guy role for the veteran actor, and, as mentioned above, the character he portrays, Leo, isn’t just another tough guy. He’s a man in anguish, bent on avenging his son’s death by exacting revenge on those responsible during the annual bedlam known as The Purge.

In our interview with Grillo, the actor talks in-depth about his favorite aspects of the role, as well as the differences between this movie and its predecessor.

The Purge: Anarchy hits theatres tomorrow.
