The MPAA Has Rated Man Of Steel

To the surprise of no one, the MPAA has rated Man of Steel PG-13. Are you as blown away as I am?
No, I didn’t think you would be. The official rating is for “ intense sequences of sci-fi violence, action and destruction, and for some language.”
Even though the previously released trailers exhibited a much darker tone than we’re used to seeing for Krypton’s Last Son, I don’t think anyone was expecting this new iteration to move into a hard “R” territory for the love of Pete.
Henry Cavill stars as Superman this time, with Michael Shannon as villain General Zod, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, and a talented supporting cast that includes Kevin Costner, Diane Lane, Russell Crowe, Laurence Fishburne, Christopher Meloni, Antje Traue, and Richard Schiff.
Specifics on the plot have been kept under wraps for some time now, but it’s a good bet it will have something to do with Superman saving the planet from General Zod and various supporting villains.
Man of Steel is due in theaters in 2D, 3D, and IMAX 3D June 14, 2013.
