The Hateful Eight Seems To Be Happening

By Dr. Know on July 14th, 2014

After having his lawsuit against Gawker thrown out (they allegedly leaked a copy of the script), Quentin Tarantino is apparently moving forward with The Hateful Eight after all. That is, of course, if you believe what Tarantino’s Death Proof star Kurt Russell had to say:

“There’s a Tarantino project called The Hateful Eight that looks like it may go somewhere around the beginning of the year.”

Further credence to Russell’s claim is the fact that Showbiz 411 reported Tarantino is currently working on a rewrite of the Western and has plans to put it before cameras this autumn, with the same cast from the screenplay’s recent live-reading. The cast will reportedly include Zoe Bell, Bruce Dern, Walton Goggins, Samuel L. Jackson, Michael Madsen, James Remar, Tim Roth, Kurt Russell and Amber Tamblyn.

Although initially rumored when the project first became known, it now appears that Christoph Waltz will not be involved. As I’m sure most of you already know, Waltz won Academy Awards for his performances in both Inglourious Basterds and Django Unchained.

Details are slim to say the least (even with that script leak) but , as mentioned above, The Hateful Eight is definitely another Western from the mind of Tarantino.

Production is said to be planned for Wyoming in early 2015.
