Splinter Cell Recruits Turner

By Drax Largo on March 31st, 2014

Sheldon Turner (The Texas Chainsaw Masacre: The Beginning) is the latest screenwriter to board the adaptation of Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell. He’ll be rewriting an earlier draft penned by Eric Warren Singer (American Hustle).

Doug Liman (The Bourne Identity) is still attached to direct, with Tom Hardy (The Dark Knight Rises) starring.

Since most video game adaptations usually blow goats, Ubisoft is exercising a firm hand on this one (as they are with Assassin’s Creed) to hopefully maintain some form of quality control. Glad to see they got a heavy hitter like New Regency on board.

If you’re not a gamer, the Splinter Cell video game series follows the adventures of a covert operative named Sam Fisher. He stops all kinds of terrorist nut jobs in their tracks. There have been seven games in the series thus far,so needless to say it’s slightly popular.

Still no ETA on a production start.
