Poltergeist Trailer

By Dr. Know on February 5th, 2015

The first trailer for the remake of Poltergeist is now live. Peep that player now if you give a hoot.

It does look like it has potential, but I have to admit I’m burnt out on the whole reboot thing. If’ it turns out great, hey, more power to the filmmakers and fans of this new take. It it’s total shit, well, I can’t say I really care one way or another. The original will always be the benchmark for me…as conventional as that sounds.

Monster House‘s Gil Kenan is directing from a script that’s seen passes by Stiles White and Juliet Snowden (The Possession), Scott Derrickson (Sinister), Paul Harris Boardman (The Exorcism of Emily Rose) as well as David Lindsay-Abaire (Oz the Great and Powerful).

Sam Raimi and Robert Tapert’s Ghost House Pictures is producing.

In this modern take on the classic ghost story, a family struggling to make ends meet relocates to an outdated suburban home and is confronted by an angry spirit who kidnaps their youngest daughter and challenges them to band together to rescue her from its evil clutches (sounds like more of the same).

Sam Rockwell, Rosemarie DeWitt, Jared Harris, Saxon Sharbino, and Kennedi Clements star.

Poltergeist takes shape in theaters July 24, 2015.
