New Writers Board Marvel’s Ant-Man
By Dr. Know on July 8th, 2014
Screenwriters Gabriel Ferrari and Andrew Barrer have been brought aboard Marvel’s Ant-Man for a final polish of the script, which was originally written by Edgar Wright and Joe Cornish, then re-written by Adam McKay. Word is the duo won’t be overhauling much; the plan is to have both on set throughout production next month to craft any possible changes should the need arise.
As most of you know by now, Peyton Reed replaced Edgar Wright in the director’s chair last month when Wright and Marvel couldn’t come to an agreement on the film’s creative direction.
As for the rest of the project, Paul Rudd and Michael Douglas will star, both of whom will be playing Ant-Men Scott Lang and Hank Pym respectively. Michael Pena is also on board for a undisclosed role in the production.
The story will supposedly follow con-man Scott Lang (Rudd), who has the ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength. He must embrace his inner-hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym (Douglas), protect the secret behind his spectacular Ant-Man suit from a new generation of towering threats. Against seemingly insurmountable obstacles, Pym and Lang must plan and pull off a heist that will save the world.
Marvel’s Ant-Man is still scheduled for release July 17, 2015.
