Matthew Vaughn Will Produce The Fantastic Four Reboot

Matthew Vaughn will produce the Fantastic Four reboot for Fox, which Chronicle‘s Josh Trank is slated to direct.

How do we know this?

Well, Vaughn’s frequent collaborator, and creator of many a comic book source materia,l Mark Millar (also a creative consultant over at Fox) took to his Twitter to give us the good news:

This bodes well for finally getting this franchise done right. Like Doc, I detested the first two attempts (well, three if you count the cheesy direct-to-video movie from the ealy ’90s).

Hopefully, wih Vaughn and Trank in place, the production should be able to go about re-casting soon.

The 2005 Fantastic Four and 2007 sequel Rise of the Silver Surferwere directed by Tim Story and starred Ioan Gruffudd, Jessica Alba, Chris Evans and Michael Chiklis. Although both films were somewhat successful at the box office, the reviews from critics and Marvel purists were less than hospitable.

Michael Green and Jeremy Slater wrote the script for the new film.

Currently, the Fantastic Four reboot is set for release on March 6, 2015.
