Hughes To Direct The Raid Remake

By Drax Largo on March 5th, 2014

Although director Patrick Hughes (Red Hill) is still amidst post-production on The Expendables 2, he’s already managed to line up his next gig: directing the remake of The Raid for Screen Gems.

If you missed ithe original while in theatres, The Raid concerns a SWAT team raid on a Jakarta tenement housing in order to capture a drug lord and shut down hip operations. All kinds of crazy action ensues when the kingpin and his underlings refuse to come quietly with the local law enforcement.

Still no word of any acting talent getting involved, but the script was penned by Out Of The Furnace screenwriter Brad Ingelsby and original producer XYZ Films is also producing this new take.

Meanwhile, The Raid 2: Berandal, the sequel to the original movie, is scheduled to make its bow in theatres on March 28th.

Here’s the trailer for the original movie.
