Gordon Entering Uncharted Territory

By Dr. Know on February 4th, 2014

Horrible Bosses director Seth Gordon is in talks to helm Uncharted, the live-action adaptation of the top-selling PlayStation video game seriesUncharted: Drake’s Fortune.

Gordon isn’t the first director to become attached to this property, but hopeful he’ll be the last. Before he became involved, Neil Burger (Limitless) was set to direct. Prior to Burger, David O. Russell (American Hustle) also took a crack at things but that never panned out for a variety of undisclosed reason.

Based on the video game of the same name, Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune follows the adventures of a James Bond-esque explorer, Nathan Drake, who sets out on a journey to recover the lost treasure of El Dorado with the help of his trusty sidekick Victor “Sully” Sullivan.

David Guggenheim (Safe House) wrote the most recent draft of the screenplay.

The film is an Arad/Atlas Entertainment Production, produced by Roven, Avi Arad, Alex Gartner, and Ari Arad.

The hunt for someone to play Nathan Drake now begins.
