Ghostbusters III Femme-Centric?

By Dr. Know on October 8th, 2014

Well, it looks like the rumors of director Paul Feig (The Heat, Bridesmaids) directing Ghostbusters III, with a female cast at its core are true. Accordiing to Deadline, Feig has boarded the project along with The Heat screenwriter Katie Dippold. This, of course, means the script will undergo yet another rewrite.

The story will supposedly introduce new female Ghostbusters and will hand the baton over from two of the original cast members. Dan Aykroyd has said he will return but Bill Murray – as we’ve all known for ages now – has not committed.

Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky’s (Bad Teacher) earlier draft was rewritten once again this year because of the sad and unfortunate passing of Ghostbuster original Harold Ramis.

Ivan Reitman is still attached to produce this new take, but it’s still anyone’s guess as to when this forever-in-development movie will go before the cameras. Having said that, it’s at least good to know comedy veteran Feig is now officially steering the ship.
