Feig Directing Ghostbusters III?

By Dr. Know on August 4th, 2014

The latest rumor surrounding Ghostbusters III concerns director Paul Feig (The Heat, Bridesmaids); word is Sony wants him to take the helm of what is now reportedly a reboot focusing on a set female Ghostbusters.

The story will supposedly introduce new Ghostbusters and will hand the baton over from two of the original cast members. Dan Aykroyd has said he will return but Bill Murray – as we’ve all known for ages now – has not committed.

Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky’s (Bad Teacher) earlier draft was rewritten once again this year because of the sad and unfortunate passing of Ghostbuster original Harold Ramis.

I think Feig would be a great choice, but at the same time I’m not holding my breath for this to happen. Feig is the latest candidate mentioned following the likes of Phil Lord and Chris Miller (22 Jump Street) and Ruben Fleischer (Zombieland). All great choices, but for whatever reason it just didn’t happen.

In the meantime, the development hell train rolls on…
