Damon & Greengrass Bourne Again?

Well, it looks like Matt Damon and Paul Greengrass may be returning to the Bourne franchise after all. According to Deadline the duo is in preliminary talks to do a fifth entry in the series.
Most in Tinseltown seem stunned by this, but come on, gang; there’s a lot of money at stake with this tentpole. No doubt the studio is offering Damon and Greengrass a hefty sum to come back for more.
Where this leaves the in-development Bourne sequel set to star Jeremy Renner remains a mystery. Obviously if the Damon/Greengrass deal goes through, director Justin Lin and screenwriter Anthony Peckham will be given the boot along with Renner.
The last entry in the franchise, The Bourne Legacy, featured Jeremy Renner’s Cross as a medically enhanced covert operative. His protocols were designed to make him smarter and stronger than other agents as part of Operation Outcome. Thanks to the insidious Col. Eric Byer (Edward Norton) trying to cover his tracks, Cross was then targeted for termination. Directed by Tony Gilroy, The Bourne Legacy opened domestically on August 10, 2012 to the tune of $38.1 million and went on to make $276.6 million worldwide.
