With Avengers: Age of Ultron set to get rolling soon, Thor himself, actor Chris Hemsworth has shared his thoughts on the would-be blockbuster, saying, “Everything in [Age of Ultron] is ramped up, though. It kind of blew me away reading [the script].
“I don’t know how Joss [Whedon] does it, but everyone has gone up another notch and the whole thing is bigger and more exciting and crazier. Yeah, he’s a genius,” Hemsworth said.
He adds, “I’m really excited to start Avengers 2 in 2 months and get back on set. We’re going to meet in London and shoot there for 4 months, so I’m excited to get back together with everyone and catch up.”
All of the principal cast members from the first movie are returning, while James Spader, Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Elizabeth Olsen are in the new roles of Ultron, Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch respectively. Thomas Kretschman is also on board as Baron Wolfgang von Strucker. The Avengers: Age of Ultron will bring the Marvel Universe’s biggest heroes together again to face one of their biggest villains, with Marvel’s The Avengers director Joss Whedon returning to write and direct the sequel. Marvel’s The Avengers was released in 2012 and went on to earn $1.5 billion worldwide, making it the third-largest grossing movie of all time.
Production gets underway next month.
The Avengers: Age of Ultron is scheduled for May 1, 2015.
