ATTN LA READERS: Near Dark Screening + Q & A

By Dr. Know on March 4th, 2014

Heads up, LA fiends and friends! Near Dark, one of the greatest horror films ever made – and the movie that put Kathryn Bigelow on the map as a director (with an uncredited James Cameron shadow producing) long before The Hurt Locker - is heading back to the big screen for a very special one-night showing at the Arclight Cinema in Hollywood!

ArcLight and The Modern School of Film will present Near Dark at midnight on Friday, March 14th, featuring an in-depth discussion moderated The Devil’s Rejects co-star/comedian and horror aficionado Brian Posehn

Released in 1987, the same year as The Lost Boys, the movie was in and out of theaters before audiences could really sink their teeth into it; however, over the years, the film has gained a substantial cult following and has been recognized as a truly masterful horror/modern-day western hybrid. It does a tremendous job of balancing action, horror and romance, all the while blowing the Twilight-era outta the frickin’ water! To boot, it stars Aliens alum Bill Paxton, Jenette Goldstein and Lance Henriksen as the vampires! It’s hands-down one of my favorite movies!

For those of you unacquainted, the synopsis: A young man reluctantly joins a travelling “family” of evil vampires after he discovers the girl he’s been trying to seduce is a member of the bloodsucking clan.
